I had a dream, early Saturday morning. The dream was about South African politics and the impending African National Congress’ (ANC), elective conference taking place in December 2017. In the dream, I saw people were excited and optimistic about the economy and the future of South Africa.
I was told in the dream that ‘God had chosen His man who would lead South Africa for the next 10 years. I saw in the dream Cyril Ramaphosa being chosen as the leader of the ANC and as president of South Africa.
I was then told that there are ‘noise makers and opportunist’ within the ANC and opposition parties.
I was told that the party that still represented the ideals of many South Africans is the ANC. However, for that to happen there needs to be a ‘cleansing’ of some sort.
I was also told that we pray that the veil of ignorance and the enemy’s deception be lifted off the electorate’s understanding. That the noise makers and opportunists may be exposed so that people may vote by the wisdom of God.
Interpretation
The noise makers and opportunists are in politics for their own personal gain and advancement. These noise makers and opportunists had highjacked the ANC and used it as a platform for self-enrichment. And they want the status quo to remain so they can continue to loot the state.
There is, however, still a core group of leaders within the African National Congress, who are not ‘captured’ for lack of a better word. And these leaders can steady the ship so to speak and stir South Africa in the right direction. What is needed now with the country leadership (political), are ‘cool heads and steady hands.’
There are some cool heads and steady hands within the ruling party. These are men and women of impeccable character and integrity who can take South Africa forward.
God has chosen Cyril to be the new Head of State. However, it is going to take prayer and intercession to get that done. The electorate have been deceived by empty slogans and noise from within and without the ANC.
So, can God choose a president for a country or a leader for a country?
(Act13:21) And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
(Acts 13:22) And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
(Act 13:23) Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Most of the current opposition parties are also noise makers and opportunists. Their motives of entering the political arena is to settle scores, get their hands-on state coffers and state assets in the name of ‘radical economic transformation’ and ‘wealth redistribution.’ However, all they are doing is pry on the electorate for their own selfish ambitions.
According to my dream Cyril Ramaphosa is someone who can truly represent the wishes of most South Africans.
Labour (the workers) know him and can-do business with him. He was once upon a time one of them. He fully understands the struggles of the working class and would be able to address their issues accordingly.
Business South Africa knows him too. He has sat down with business leaders in this country for decades, first as a union leader and as a businessman (as an equal). In that regard Cyril is uniquely qualified to know and understand the needs of Business SA, which is to make profit and the needs of workers, which is fair wages and good conditions of employment.
Minority groups in this country also know him and trust him. They have also sat down and done business with him. During apartheid years Cyril not only gained the trust of the workers, but of their bosses too (which were white Afrikaans male (WAM), generally speaking. This is a group of people that feels threatened and unwanted and wondering if there is still a future for them and their children in a democratic South Africa.
Now the ANC Freedom Charter states that South Africa belongs to all people, black and white, that live in it. If there is any person that understands this better than most, it is Cyril. Minority groups would embrace him as President of the nation. (This is one point that most noise makers and opportunist would use against Cyril’s candidacy – that he can be a sell-out). However, it is a massive advantage for Cyril and the country and our relationship with the International Community.
For South Africa to survive and thrive we need all its people’s hands on the plough. Divisive politics and slogans only separate us and make us hate and mistrust each other. And because of those divisions we are weak and NOT strong as a nation.
Yes, bad things happened in this country. And are still happening. The truth and reconciliation commission did its best to address that past. Could it have done better. Sure enough. I’d be the first one to raise my hand. But whatever happened to forgiveness and reconciliation and nation building?
Remember pastor Frank Chikane and Mr Adrian Vlok’s story, with the latter asking for forgiveness and washing pastor Frank’s feet. That is what will bring healing and restoration in this country. Forgiveness.
Cyril also understands the constitution of the country better than most. He is the architect of it. With one Roelf Meyer from the national party. South Africa’s constitution has been lauded the world over for its provisions and as a very progressive document.
When it comes to upholding the constitution of the land, I believe Mr Ramaphosa will honour and respect our constitution and constitutional democracy.
In the dream I was told that we need to pray for the following things:
That the electorate’s ‘eyes’ may be opened so they can see who the noise makers and opportunists are within the ANC.
Pray that these noise makers and opportunists be exposed and flushed out of the leadership of the ANC at the coming elective conference
Pray for the delegates at the conference to vote for Cyril Ramaphosa to be elected as the next leader and President of the ANC.
Pray for a government of national unity. This means picking cabinet ministers from across the political and business spectrum regardless of party affiliation, colour or creed. This will require boldness on the new president.
Join me as I pray for the future of this nation.
(1Ti 2:1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
(1Ti 2:2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
(1Ti 2:3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
(2Ch 7:14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Amen.
